In the days before Dyson and Shark, there really was only one brand in the vacuum market, Hoover. So dominant was Hoover that most people raised in the 70s and 80s believed that Hoover was a verb first and brand second!
The market for vacuum cleaners is more competitive in this day and age and in fairness to Hoover its appliances have numbered more than just vacuum cleaners for many years.
The problem has been that the Hoover brand has just seemed, well, a little old fashioned. The old favourite had fallen out of favour. But that is about to change.

Described as ‘a fresh new look for a brand you trust’, you might think that they have just tinkered around the edges. Perhaps you’re right, but also why throw out over 100 years of heritage and a logo that is recognised by many? From a style point of view, the ‘H’ remains largely untouched, while the other letters have been given a more progressive look.
The brand relaunch is being given a real push, so expect to see Hoover on your TVs, digital advertising social media and billboards. What are your thoughts?
But what about the Hoover products I hear you ask?
Hoover home appliances include washing machines, washer dryers, tumble dryers, dishwashers and refrigeration. So not a Hoover to be seen – I guess that’s progress…of a sort.
